TACA Mission Statement

 

  • To foster cooperation among interested individuals and groups in combating the problem of arson.
  • Education on control, detection, and prosecution of arson.
  • To review and react to new laws and legislative proposals regarding arson.
  • To assist in the creation of appropriate legislation concerning arson.
  • To unite for the mutual benefit of those public officials and private persons engaged in the control of arson and kindred crimes.
  • To provide for the exchange of technical information and new developments.
  • To cooperate with Fire Service, Law Enforcement Agencies, Insurance Industry, the Tennessee Chapter of IAAI and other associations to further fire prevention and the suppression of arson.
  • To encourage high professional standards of conduct among fire and arson investigators.
  • To communicate to the public the extent, severity and seriousness of arson.

The Arson Hotline is a phone line dedicated to receiving information about suspicious and incendiary fires. It is answered 24 hours a day, and you may remain anonymous when providing information. Cash rewards are offered for information leading to an arrest or conviction.
